Lost Valentine
βLost Valentineβ is a visual essay about the fundamental human desire for love and the dream to meet the contemporary version of the knight on a white horse. Fairy tale expectations for romantic love are fuelled and inflated today by social media and marketing to previously unknown heights. They create a fragile world of reverie that makes falling in love even more elusive. Longing for love is often a dream yet an escape from the paradoxes of life in fast paced megalopolises around the world. Musing and looking for Valentine offers sweetness, hope, an escape and a so much needed dose of magic to the disillusioned stress abundant reality. Walking in the nights in Tokyo I was attempting to grasp whether all those wonderfully beautiful young women dream about their Valentine or were they already in love with the dream of him.
π My lost Valentine π...I was waiting for you... I was looking for you...
I am dressing up tonight - I am putting on a dress π, a beautiful one! Probably a hat too π.. actually not sure yet.ππ But I will wear a lipstickπ , for sure - a red one. You love red, right?! Or may be pink?! π
Are you going to meet me? ... Today, tonight, tomorrow? Or may be yesterday?
I am looking for you in the crowd. I see you when I sleep, but I can't when I am awake...I lose you.
I am alone, the city is so big, so many people and dazzling lights, I can't see you. Do you see me? Are you coming? Are we going to meet? Please wait for me, look for me! I want us to meet...π
My lost Valentine π, I tried to love you, but you didn't try.π
My lost Valentine π, we didn't meet yet, right?! β€οΈππ
I will be out tonight, I will be beautiful for you... My lost Valentine.
